In a meeting between the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ljubljana and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, the history and latest relation and cooperation among the two countries in various fields was assessed and the interlocutors exchanged views regarding the outlook of future cooperation.

State Secretary Dobran Bozic expressed hope that the two countries will continue to expand their cooperation, especially in economic and commercial spheres and added: There are still many opportunities for the development of bilateral relations and we must continue efforts to achieve our goals. Supporting previous cooperation is a good basis for developing relationships in the future. "Slovenia has always supported the nuclear deal and the JCPOA", emphasized the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, while noting his county's support for multilateralism. Ambassador Kazem Shafei described the responsible and constructive behavior of Iran regarding its international commitments and contrary to that the decisions, actions and irresponsible, unconstructive and illegal behavior and the actions contrary to the international practices made by the US. He also expressed his appreciation because of the rational and wise positions of the Slovenian government towards the nuclear deal, especially after the US withdrawal from the JCPOA and said: based on the measures and wisdom that we have witnessed from the Slovenian authorities so far, we hope and expect this trend to continue in the interests of both countries. "Based on the latest statistics, during the first 9 months of 2018, the value of trades between the two countries has seen a 23% growth", said the Ambassador while expressing his satisfaction with this. Ambassador Kazem Shafei also announced the readiness and endeavors of the Iranian side to hold the first joint economic commission of the two countries in the near future.
